About

I’m a Clinical Psychologist, and I help people through tough times.

My work is centered around helping my clients feel connected-to amid their struggles. I understand the complexity of mental illness, how it can create disorganization, personal chaos, and stigma. I find I am capable of holding hope while maintaining the balance of understanding that some issues are a difficult process and adapting to them takes time. I am comfortable and well practiced with individuals who have been diagnosed with Bipolar and other mood disorders, disorders on the Schizophrenic Spectrum, and I have significant experience working with parents and adolescents too.

I studied at Fuller School of Psychology and received my doctorate in clinical psychology. While there, I earned a master’s of arts in theology. This training has helped me to understand how people from all walks of life and religious backgrounds make meaning out of their circumstances. It has afforded me an in-depth study of how people from diverse backgrounds not only process the moment but understand their experience in the context of life-long purpose.

In my training, I worked with children and families in community mental health centers that taught me about developmental theory and the attachment of safety that we form early in life which influences our understanding of safety in the world. I then went to work in hospitals with individuals with irrecoverable medical conditions such as traumatic spinal cord injuries or terminal conditions such as cancer. These experiences taught me how to hope in the midst of dour circumstances. For my post-doc, I worked at a state hospital with criminally convicted individuals with severe mental illness, which gave me an appreciation of how without care and services mental illness can become devastating. However, it also taught me that one’s humanity is never lost, nor should one’s dignity be compromised.

Having the breadth of these experiences, I am now able in private practice to offer my understanding, technique, and competence to provide services to those who need a contact point during times when their life needs support and connection.
